‘MATCH POSTPONED’ 3D ANIMATION
We kicked off May 2024 by producing a full-CGI production for Beyond The Box – a key member of the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) who know just about everything there is to know about cardboard packaging.
The brief? Produce a hero campaign film + supporting assets with a strong PR hook to highlight the damaging impacts of the UK plastic crisis, promoting cardboard packaging as a sustainable alternative.
To coincide with the FA Cup and Champions League Final matches at Wembley this Spring, we created this short film depicting an apocalyptic Wembley look-a-like stadium filling with single-use plastic, bearing the title ‘MATCH POSTPONED’. These powerful visuals made for hard hitting viewing, further intensified by ending on the headline grabbing statistic; ‘every 90 minutes the UK throws away over 19 million pieces of plastic packaging’.
Working around potential stadium location restrictions and budget limitations, CGI was deemed the best route forward for this creative.
Production spanned six weeks from concept approval to delivery. During this time, the initial concepts were translated into static CGI style frames before being made into a full storyboard. Once approved, we then went through a series of render iterations. The final hero film was then graded and cutdowns were created, alongside a series of high-res rendered stills.
The assets were amplified by sustainability influencers and on Beyond The Box’s owned channels, corresponding with the FA Cup and Champions League Final matches at Wembley.
